Academic Enhancement

Academics Enhancement and Communication Skills are complementary functions. Many scientific studies conclude that even the most advanced tutoring program will be of limited assistance to the students with speech and language disorders unless they get treatment for that condition as well. This is precisely why our tutoring program also addresses communication skills

Our SES tutoring program is unique and unmatched. We provide eligible students tutoring, as well as free treatment for speech and language disorders (Stuttering, etc). No health insurance required! Our Tutoring programs are based on the most advanced curriculum. We pride ourselves with our students’ results. Our program and services were granted the rating of “EXCELLENT”by the Florida Department of Education for 2009/2010.

About Our Program

Our program goals are aimed at providing the student with the best and most advanced techniques and practices that will bring the most academic success possible. Our goals are:

  • Have all students achieve academic improvement within grade level.
  • Meet or exceed the benchmarks of the Florida Sunshine State Standards
  • Provide small group sizes with a teacher/student ratio 1 to 10.
  • Create Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each student based on Pre-assessment testing and input from classroom teachers and parents
  • Provide regular progress reports to parents and school
  • Do a Post-assessment to determine level of improvement

Reading Program

Our reading program addresses the following basic skills:

  • Vocabulary
  • Fluency
  • Comprehension
  • Phonics

Math Program

Our math program addresses the following basic skills:

  • Computation/Calculation
  • Mathematical Concepts
  • Problem Solving

Communication Skills/Speech Fluency Program

In conjunction with the Center for Communication Disorders we provide free treatment for children who suffer from speech dysfluency (Stuttering). To learn more about this treatment program visit www.apexccd.com.

Advisory Board

 

The advisory board consists of:

  • Education Specialists
  • Assessment Specialists
  • Community Advisors
  • Speech Language Pathologists
  • Administration

The board is tasked with providing the most effective educational experience for all students enrolled with Academic Innovations. The board sets the direction of the programs and strives to bring the best and most motivated instructors into the program. The progress of the students is always the prime consideration.
