TEENAGERS

For children and their parents, stuttering, speech and language disorders are certainly a most disruptive and devastating conditions. Their development and entire interaction with the world evolves around communication (speech). Speech disorder is that much more acute for Teenagers who are afflicted with this condition due to their development phase in life, combined with social and academic activities. They are trapped in a helpless gray area, and have to struggle daily on their own with:

PRE-TEENS

All the expert’s opinions and the conclusion of every research and test undertaken in that field have reached the same conclusion: Early intervention in children between the ages 3 to 10 years, have the best chances of success, and in fact it’s a must for their development. Treating children at that age category is a special challenge. A joint effort and complete involvement of the parents, the educators and the healthcare professionals of various disciplines are a must to achieve success.

This version of the Apex™ Speech Care System is carefully formulated to provide children between ages 3 and 10 a treatment that takes into account the particular constraints of that age group. The treatment application is in a concentrated form, starting with half hour sessions, and gradually increased to two hours sessions over a period of two weeks. This time frame may vary according to the severity levels of the condition.

An outlook for parents and educators participation is incorporated in the treatment protocol. Taking into consideration the short attention span of children of that age category, and their playful nature, the treatment application is administered in a way of a game participation rather than a clinical treatment.
